Nike missed Plan by $6000 for the day. They opened at 9am hoping to gain some of the runner traffic but only saw one person from 9 - 10am. They provided a $20 off $100+ purchase coupon for runner's bags but only 11 were redeemed.

Store Comments:
GAP noted being down to plan and traffic. The manager commented on PINK card issues as shoppers were "not happy only able to use on one item per day. They wanted to do use 8 - 10 single transactions which is not allowed" and if they did do it, it would drive down UPT, AUR, and AT for the day. GAP did not provide any coupons for the runner's bags.

 UP 100% 100%
Store Comments:
UA partnered with us on the 5K and packet pickup was in their store which skewed traffic. From 7 - 10am, they had already made $3000, which was prior to the center being open. They were up 100% over their plan. They sponsored our runner's shirts, provided the bags for our runner's and other items for the bags. Their store boasted a strong promotion of 50% off entire store and PINK cards were an additional 25% off. They were number 1 in their district.

Pandora reported both traffic and sales up double digits to Plan. They provided a coupon for our runner's bags.
Overviews and Observations
Shopper Perception of the center and stores:
Shoppers love our center for the oval design and cleanliness of the center. Runners loved the flat course and variety of raffles/prizes provided.
Trends:
Weather has been warmer than a usual Fall here in Pittsburgh and shoppers are certainly not running to purchase sweaters, jeans, and boots. Short-sleeves, sneakers, and clearance items are the uproar now.
Leasing:
Vitamin World closed on 9/27 and vacated on 9/29/17 due to bankruptcy. They are listed as a participating store on our PINK card.
Kirkland's is slated to open on 10/31/17 and we think it will be a huge draw to the center as the closest one is 20+ miles away.
Overall Local Economy:
With the return of the Marcellus Shale industry and drilling, there has been an increase in traffic and sales. We have noted this as many of our retuning customers are using zip codes outside of our area. In addition, conversations with our local hotels have noted the same.
GMs Overall Comments:
Although there was no recap last year and I've had to pull information together, we are thrilled with our 9th Annual Fit for a Cure.

We had the largest number of runners/walkers in our history! 600 this year vs. 456 last year

We raised over $13,096 in cash and in-kind sponsorships from 13 donors.
We had 18 stores provide coupons and/or samples for runner's bags.

Traffic down 5% for the day certainly reflected in our PINK card sales. 93 PINK cards were sold on the day of the event with only 26 during our 5K. This was down from LY when 189 cards were sold. There was a Pittsburgh Steeler's game at 1 pm that was against our  long-time rival, Baltimore Ravens.

Initially, we truly felt that packet pick-up would create logistic issues but these proved unfounded on the day of the race. The UA team was a huge help with our team and all went smoothly. Moving traffic into the UA store certainly aided in increasing their sales as they were up 100% for the day with $3000+ made during packet pick-up!

Raffles of donated items from stores and local organizations were a huge asset for us with $572 made for our beneficiary. In addition and new this year, we added a "silent auction" which raised an additional $275. We will certainly do this again in 2018!

We promoted our race via: FB, Washington County Tourism, local newspaper Observer-Reporter and on their website, via our beneficiary's website, WSWW radio, Miles of Smiles runner's website, and WPXI beneficiary spotlight.
